The visa is typically valid for up to 9 months within an 18-month period, depending on your reason for travel and eligibility.
To be eligible, applicants must show intent for a temporary stay, have sufficient funds to support themselves, and hold a return or onward travel ticket.
Visa holders can travel around New Zealand, visit family or friends, study for up to three months, and take part in recreational activities. However, working is not permitted on this visa. If you are coming in for business reasons you may apply for the Business Visitor Visa instead, that will permit you to undertake certain business related activities.
